Terms of Service & Licence Agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and ValiumMedia Techs (“we”, “us”, “our”) for the VMTechs Boot Repair Toolkit (“the toolkit”). By downloading, installing or activating the toolkit you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the software.

1. What you may do

  • Install and run the toolkit on the computer(s) covered by your licence, including from Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) or a WinPE USB stick.
  • Use its free features (diagnostics, health and boot reports, BitLocker status and unlock, registry backup, System Restore tools and more) on your own computers, forever.
  • Use a licensed copy to repair a customer’s computer when you hold a licence for that machine.

2. Licence keys and activation

  • Each paid licence activates the software on one PC (Technician packs cover the number of PCs stated on the pack). Activation is offline: the app shows a Request Code, you buy a key, and you type it in — no internet is needed on the machine being repaired.
  • Keys are personal and non-transferable. Please do not share, publish, resell or redistribute them; keys published publicly may be disabled.
  • Your licence survives Windows reinstalls on the same computer. Lost your key? Re-enter your Request Code on our activation page and it is re-issued free of charge.

3. Free edition vs. paid licences

Diagnosis and reporting are free forever. The repair actions that modify your system — boot-file and BCD reconstruction, recovery-environment repair, deep system-file repair, disk file-system repair and similar — require a paid licence. 4. Acceptable use

  • Use the toolkit only on computers that you own, or that you are authorised to service.
  • BitLocker support is owner recovery. The toolkit detects encrypted volumes, locates a saved recovery key, and unlocks a volume using the owner’s own recovery key. It is not a password cracker and cannot bypass encryption.
  • Do not use the toolkit to access data you are not entitled to, and do not copy, decompile, reverse-engineer or modify the software except where the law expressly permits it.

5. Money-back guarantee

Every licence bought directly from us — and every licence bought through a promotional partner such as BitsDuJour — is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee: if a PRO activation does not fix the problem you bought it for, email us within 30 days and we will refund you in full. See the Refund Policy for details. Licences bought through a third-party store can also be refunded through that store’s own process, or directly by us if the store’s window has closed.

6. Updates and support

Updates to the toolkit are free for as long as your licence lasts. Support is available by email at support@vmtechs.com — we answer within one business day.

7. No warranty — back up first

The toolkit is provided “as is”. We cannot promise that every computer can be repaired: hardware failures, failing drives, and damage that occurred before the toolkit ran may be beyond any software’s reach. Always back up important data before running repairs. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and limit our total liability to the amount you paid for your licence.

8. Privacy

The toolkit runs fully offline and does not send or receive data over the internet. What we do with your information when you buy or contact us is described in our Privacy Policy — briefly: we never sell, rent, trade or give away your personal information.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the software or the law changes. The current version is always published at this address with its “last updated” date; continuing to use the toolkit after an update means you accept the revised terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will highlight it on this page.
