Register your USB stick

The license is bound to the stick's hardware serial, which survives reformatting.

How do I find my stick's hardware serial?
On any working Windows PC, plug in the stick first, then use either command below. Option A — PowerShell (all Windows 10 / 11 builds) Get-Disk | Where-Object BusType -eq 'USB' | Format-Table FriendlyName, SerialNumber Option B — CMD (classic Windows; see note below) wmic diskdrive get interfacetype, serialnumber | findstr "USB" Option C — one-liner (shortest to type, also inside WinRE) wmic diskdrive get interfacetype, serialnumber | find "USB"

Same idea as Option B, using find "USB" instead of findstr β€” keep the quotes. All CMD options need wmic: it is present on Windows 10 and older Windows 11 builds, but newer Windows 11 builds removed it (CMD then answers β€œ'wmic' is not recognized…”) β€” use Option A there.

Take the SerialNumber for the stick you plugged in β€” the app ignores spaces and letter case, so just paste it. Use the whole serial, not the drive letter or the volume label.

In WinRE (recovery menu): open Troubleshoot β†’ Advanced options β†’ Command Prompt and run Option C β€” on builds that include WMIC it prints the serial right there. If it says β€œnot recognized”, use the toolkit instead: run it from the stick β†’ Activation β†’ β€œShow this drive's serial” β€” that path works on every build. Registration itself always happens here on the web, never in WinRE.

⚠️ A stick that reports no serial (both commands show an empty SerialNumber) can't be licensed β€” use another stick.

Contact & discount (both optional)

Your email gets you renewal reminders and faster support. A coupon cuts the price instantly.

USB-page coupons only β€” codes for per-PC keys are rejected here, and USB codes are rejected on the key page.

Set up in 3 steps (about 2 minutes, once a year)

  1. Register each stick's hardware serial. PowerShell on any working PC (Get-Disk | Where-Object BusType -eq 'USB'), or in the app: Activation β†’ β€œShow this drive's serial”. Paste the serial(s) into step 2 above.
  2. Pay and download. Your license file β€” VMTechs-BRT_USB-XXXX.license β€” appears on screen right after payment (and in your email receipt).
  3. Copy it to the stick. Put the file in the root of each licensed stick, next to the toolkit EXE. Done β€” every customer PC you touch with that stick gets PRO automatically, online or in WinRE, with no codes and no phone calls.
Good to know
  • The license only works on the registered stick(s) β€” copying the file alone unlocks nothing.
  • Hardware serials survive reformatting, so you can reflash your stick freely; a reformat never voids the license.
  • Renewing any time re-issues the file for the same serial β€” nothing to reconfigure.
  • Sticks that report no hardware serial cannot be licensed.
